In this famous work of the English naturalist the word 'evolution' occurs for the first time (in any of Darwin's works!).The first appearing of the word is on page 2 of volume one.
The condition of the books is very good except some signs of cracking to the hinges which are still intact and in full function.With some shelfware and signs of use to the boards and some foxing to the endpapers and the half-title page of Vol. II. Former owner's inscription on the flying leaf of both volumes.
